Roles & Responsibilities: As the engineering manager s for the Asynchronous Messaging Services team (AMS) you'll be part of the larger Cloud Engineering group who's responsible for building a truly global, self-service cloud platform (PaaS) to enable Global Tech's growing number of engineering teams to build, deploy, run and operate their services in a fully autonomous fashion. Your role will focus on leading the development efforts of the Kafka-as-a-Service platform on top of Confluent Cloud. You will help set the teams identify and how the teams work in the larger organization. You'll emphasize modern, rigorous software development practices that emphasize testability, repeatability, and self-service automation. You will help drive technical decision-making, particularly regarding the architectural direction of the global Kafka platform. Your team focuses on providing a simple process for communicating asynchronous between services and provide a set of tools for application teams to leverage. What to Bring: Bachelor's degree with total 14 - 16 years of experience in software development including 2+ year of team management experience. at least 5 years of hands-on experience with at minimum two messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc Hands-on experience with designing and maintaining backend service Hands-on experience with at least one IaC tool (e.g. CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation) Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, or other) Experience with the development and operation of high throughput systems supporting hundreds of developers or more. Experience as a software developer using at least one of (Swift, Kotlin/Java, Javascript or Golang preferred) and has a good understanding of how software applications are built.
