DESCRIPTIONAmazon’s Retail Business Services, Analytics team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help build the next generation of analytics solutions. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor as we transform from a reactive, request-directed team to a proactive, roadmap-driven organization that accelerates the business. Working closely with the business teams, analytics teams, you will simplify and scale our data and infrastructure, developing and owning canonical data sets for the business. Utilizing the latest AWS technologies, you will help to implement engineering best practices, set technical standards, and hold a high bar for operational excellence. This is a highly visible role, with regular access to principal engineers and other senior business and technology leaders. You will be a key influencer on the team, providing input on priorities, technical designs, and technology decisions with a focus on scalable, maintainable and efficient systems and processes. You will understand and anticipate stakeholder needs, thinking big when recommending solutions. You will be comfortable navigating an ambiguous environment, knowing how to confirm and reconfirm assumptions. You will advise leaders and stakeholders on project milestones and associated prioritization.Key job responsibilities• Design, development and ongoing operations of scalable, performant data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports and dashboards. • Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)• Development of dashboards and reports. • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations.
