Corning Inc, the world's largest maker of smartphone cover glass, will begin manufacturing the product in India by the end of 2024 through its joint venture with Noida:based contract manufacturer Optiemus Infracom Ltd, which will be called Bharat Innovation Glass Technologies.The JV company will manufacture finished front and back cover glass for smartphones and the plant is likely to come up in Tamil Nadu.The Indian facility will meet the demand for the domestic consumers first and then expand its operations overseas.Function/Dept Purpose Statement:Manages supply chain from end:to:end (Input materials to finished goods) to enable sustainable competitive advantage.
