BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experienceDESCRIPTION The Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager will be responsible for partnering with a regional operations team in 50 plus Amazon Distribution Centres to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. They will also be responsible to provide safety program level guidance to 3P Partners running Last mile operations for Amazon through various service level agreements. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates.The Regional WHS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.The Regional WHS Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company WHS policies and assist the regional teams in incorporating our WHS standards at their site.They will be required to identify best practices from other Business Units and Geos and incorporate these, best practices into our standards to continuously improve company WHS policies.The Regional WHS Manager will be required to be a subject matter expert and possess excellent WHS program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.The Regional WHS Manager will be responsible to lead a team of WHS Managers and officers in their region. Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions. • Lead Musculoskeletal injury reduction efforts by performing targeted Kaizens in partnership with the Ergo and Operations teams based on the risks identified in each task (force, repetition, and awkward postures). • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
