The Role Job Summary The Highway Design Manager leads the highway design team in the Bangalore design office during design delivery and will be expected to be involved in and lead the design of all projects starting from concept development to final design and tendering. The successful candidates must have experience in designing high value projects within the Infrastructure - Roads & Highways sector as well as some project management experience. They will be required to drive efficiency and rigor in technical delivery by providing cross-program co-ordination and technical leadership. They will also be responsible for driving excellence in health and safety, ensuring that risks are minimized in the design process. Main Responsibilities - Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives. Applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. - Liaison with the design support team to manage and co-ordinate all of the engineering design for the program across all phases of work in the design process. - Participating in value engineering reviews. - Auditing compliance against standards, policies, procedures and best practices for engineering on the Program. - Monitoring compliance against the approvals requirements, including regulatory authorities, for the Program. - Provide technical guidance to Senior, Mid-level, Junior Highway Design Engineers, CAD Designers / Drafters working on a variety of transportation projects - ensure quality of deliverables, motivate the team, etc. - Provide project design civil engineering services such as preparation of project study reports, project reports, geometric approval drawings, plans, specifications and estimates. - Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. - Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract. - Leads other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process. - Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. - May assist with other administrative and technical duties. - Liaison and co-ordination between the Designers across the other disciplines in the development of engineering work packages. - Ensuring that Health, Safety, Environment and Security requirements are properly considered and included in all stages of the design process. - Confirming that necessary approvals are obtained from certification bodies. - Ensure the Design Consultants deliver the right product of the right quality on schedule. The Role Job Summary The Design Landscape Architect participates in the delivery of non-complex landscaping design projects. He works closely with Project Managers and design teams to develop different landscape design options and to refine selected designs across the project design cycle, including conceptual landscape designs, preliminary, final detailed designs and tender documents for non-complex landscape design projects. At Amazon we highly support continued learning opportunities and focus on continued employee development.Key job responsibilities- Leading a team of engineers in the design of data center critical infrastructure systems- Facilitating weekly meetings with internal engineer resources, internal customers and external consultants to address design issues, design coordination, meet design milestones and escalate as needed.- Driving process improvements and process implemention - Creating and tracking metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design as well as collecting data from construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented.- Establishing capital project design budgets, contributing to complex business cases for existing region and new region deployment.- Collaborating with AWS finance teams to secure funding for projects.- Working in partnership with AWS Engineering leads to schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs.- Partnering with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables.- Managing document controller's workflow and audit of deliverables- Managing the interfaces, stakeholders coordination and have oversight on follow-through from DD to design, to construction to operations across project life cycle- Driving the pre/post construction permit/statutory approvals as required by respective jurisdictions- Managing the design submittals process during construction in coordination with construction team, contractors, external design consultant, other stakeholders We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Mumbai, MH, INDBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Architecture- Minimum of eight (8) years professional experience in data center or mission critical facility design with basic fundamental knowledge of multi-disciplinary mission critical systems, design process, per-construction requirements and the construction process- Minimum of two (2) years of Project Management or Project Lead experience including RFQ/RFP process, selecting engineering teams, developing budgets, coordinating multiple consultant teams and facilitating meetingsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Professional Engineering or Architectural License- Experience directly related to data center design, construction, operations, and/or facility maintenance- Direct experience with design or construction administration of a multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects - Direct experience with delivering data centers design projects, including procurement and commissioning of facilities- Functional knowledge of industry standards, environmental codes, building codes and safety standards including International Building Code- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to senior leadership or non-engineers, develop basic business case financial projections and create performance metrics- Direct experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies regarding departures from building code and construction change orders- Working Knowledge of Sharepoint, BIM/Revit, MS Project, Salesforce and Procore softwareSalary: .
